Family Car Rentals has an office at Currumbin Waters on Queensland's Gold Coast, serving customers living in or visiting Australia’s holiday headquarters. 

We don't headline “we are the cheapest”, or we will match any other quote (or beat it by 5% or 10%). We have a Best Value Guarantee wherein we state that if you find a comparable rental car deal that is cheaper than our quote, we will reduce our price by double the difference, plus an additional $50.00. That's right, if you found someone cheaper than us by (say) $20, we would reduce our price by $90. Check out the fine print by clicking on the link in this paragraph.

We have always set our operations apart from our competitors and we regularly check on them to ensure that we stay in front, in both service standards and value for money.

Including us, there are around 50 car rental companies on the Gold Coast and we maintain a constant vigil of what is going on in our market place. We strive to provide the best possible service levels and the best value rental deals.

We are not all about price, in recent times we have had several awards recognising us for all round excellence.

In November 2023, we received an Award recognising us as:

Best Regional Car Rental Company – Queensland 2023   (AI Global Media UK)

This award came as a complete surprise, we did not make any submissions in respect of it – we are uncertain whether somebody recommended us or AI Global Media found us from their own research. The AI Global Excellence Awards are merit-based awards to celebrate innovation and excellence.

In early March 2024, we received another Award recognising us as:

Best Family Car Rental Company – 2024   (APAC Insider Australian Enterprise Awards)

Again, this award was completely unexpected, we had not submitted any application or other material to APAC Insider. The judges mentioned our unique value guarantee, promising a reduction of double the difference plus an additional $50 if someone found a comparable rental deal cheaper than ours.

In late March 2024, we received a third Award recognising us as:

Best Rental Car Company – 2024   (CorporateLiveWire Innovation & Excellence Awards UK)

This Award was entirely unsolicited and we were very excited about it as it had no qualifications such as “Regional” and “Family”, and a global reach. The judges made the following comments in respect of our business:  “Family Car Rentals offers a highly customer-centric approach – differing itself from the region’s competitors through its high standards of service and value”.

In April 2024, we received a fourth Award recognising us as having:

Australia’s Fairest Rental Car Terms & Conditions – 2024   (CarHire Guide)

The rating is determined by a “Pass/Fail” analysis of rental car company performances in meeting 32 different Standards of Consumer Fairness in respect of Rental Car transactions. We are the only company that has met all 32 Standards, other companies range from only 21 Standards, down to no compliance with any Standard.

In May 2024, we were recognised as a:

Best of Queensland Experience! – 2024   (Tourism & Events Queensland)

The “Best of Queensland Experience” awards are merit-based and require thresholds to be met or exceeded on a continuing basis.

No doubt that the "Elephant in the Room" is the Award for Australia's Fairest Rental Car Terms & Conditions. In 2018, we achieved 100% compliance in every one of the now 32 different measurements by which rental car fairness should be judged. We have continued with our full compliance status every year since - a seven year run.
